11 Household Items Giving Negative Energy and Disrupting Your Positive Energy

Have you ever walked into your home and instantly felt drained, restless, or unusually anxious for no obvious reason? Maybe you’ve been feeling stressed despite having nothing particularly stressful happening in your life. Or perhaps you’ve noticed that your home doesn’t feel as peaceful as it once did.

While factors such as sleep, mental health, and physical health play a major role in how we feel, many cultures and spiritual traditions also believe that the environment around us influences our emotional and mental well-being. Whether you see it as spiritual energy, psychological influence, or simply the effect of clutter and surroundings on your mind, certain household items giving negative energy may be affecting the atmosphere in your home more than you realise.

Some objects remind us of painful memories. Others create visual clutter, while a few simply make a room feel heavy or neglected. On the other hand, a clean, organised, and meaningful living space often promotes peace, creativity, and relaxation.

In this article, we’ll explore 11 household items giving negative energy according to common spiritual beliefs, feng shui principles, and practical psychology—and what you can do about them.

    1. Broken or Damaged Items

Cracked mugs, broken clocks, chipped plates, damaged electronics, and furniture waiting “to be fixed someday” do more than occupy space. Every time you see them, they silently remind you of unfinished tasks and neglect.

Many traditions associate broken items with blocked energy, stagnation, and missed opportunities.

If an item can be repaired, repair it. If it cannot, let it go. Removing broken possessions often creates an immediate sense of relief and freshness.

    2. Mirrors Placed in the Wrong Location

Mirrors brighten rooms and make spaces appear larger, but where you place them matters.

Many feng shui practitioners advise against placing mirrors directly opposite the bed because they are believed to disturb restful sleep by reflecting energy throughout the night. Mirrors reflecting clutter or dark corners may also amplify the feeling of disorder.

Instead, position mirrors where they reflect natural light, beautiful views, or clean spaces.

    3. Photos That Bring Painful Memories

Photographs preserve memories, but not every memory deserves a permanent place on your wall.

Pictures associated with family conflicts, broken friendships, painful relationships, or traumatic events can subconsciously keep those emotions alive.

This doesn’t mean you should erase your past. Rather, display photos that remind you of love, joy, achievement, and hope.

    4. Mattresses from Past Relationships

Your mattress is where you spend nearly one-third of your life resting and recovering.

Many spiritual traditions believe mattresses absorb emotional energy over time. If a mattress carries memories of a painful breakup, abuse, or constant conflict, some people feel emotionally lighter after replacing it.

Even from a practical perspective, old mattresses can affect sleep quality, which directly impacts mood, stress levels, and mental health.

If replacing the mattress isn’t possible, giving it a deep cleaning and refreshing your bedroom can still help create a new beginning.

    5. Shoes Stored Under the Bed

Shoes carry dirt, dust, bacteria, and the energy of everywhere you’ve walked.

Keeping them under your bed may not only create clutter but can also affect the peaceful atmosphere of your sleeping space.

Many people report sleeping better after clearing everything from beneath the bed, allowing air and energy to circulate more freely.

    6. Unwanted Gifts You Feel Obligated to Keep

Not every gift deserves permanent storage.

Sometimes a gift reminds you of someone who manipulated, hurt, or controlled you. Other times you simply don’t like it but keep it out of guilt.

Every time you look at it, you’re reminded of emotions you’d rather leave behind.

If an item doesn’t serve you or bring you happiness, consider donating it to someone who will appreciate it more.

    7. Dark or Depressing Artwork

Art shapes the mood of a room.

Images of loneliness, violence, sadness, storms, abandoned buildings, or suffering may create a gloomy atmosphere over time.

Choose artwork that inspires peace, hope, gratitude, beauty, or positive memories instead. Your walls should make you feel welcomed, not emotionally weighed down.

    8. Old Artificial Flowers and Dead Decorative Plants

Artificial flowers covered in dust or faded with age can make a home feel lifeless.

Although they require little maintenance, worn-out fake plants often symbolize stagnation rather than growth.

If you enjoy artificial plants, keep them clean and replace them once they begin looking old or damaged.

    9. Dying or Neglected Houseplants

Living plants often symbolize growth, health, and renewal.

When plants are constantly dying, yellowing, or neglected, they may contribute to an atmosphere of neglect within the home.

If you struggle to keep plants alive, choose low-maintenance varieties like snake plants or pothos, or simply remove unhealthy plants before they become an eyesore.

    10. Antiques with Uncomfortable Histories

Many antique pieces are beautiful and completely harmless. However, some people feel uneasy bringing objects with unknown histories into their homes.

Whether or not you believe objects retain emotional energy, it’s worth paying attention to how an item makes you feel.

If an antique consistently creates discomfort, anxiety, or unease, trust your instincts and consider replacing it with something that brings you peace.

    11. Excessive Clutter and Items You Never Use

Perhaps the biggest source of negative energy isn’t mysterious at all—it’s clutter.

Closets overflowing with unused clothes, boxes of forgotten belongings, overflowing drawers, and crowded countertops can make a home feel mentally exhausting.

Research has shown that clutter can increase stress, reduce focus, and contribute to feelings of anxiety.

    Ask yourself one simple question:

“Does this item add value to my life today?”

If the answer is no, it may be time to donate, recycle, or discard it.

Can Household Items Really Affect Energy?

Whether you believe in spiritual energy, feng shui, or simply the psychology of your surroundings, your environment influences how you think and feel.

Clean spaces tend to promote calmness.

    Natural light often improves mood.

    Meaningful decorations inspire positive emotions.

    Removing clutter reduces mental overload.

Sometimes what people describe as “negative energy” is simply the emotional weight attached to certain possessions or an environment that no longer supports your well-being.

    Conclusion

Not every object in your home is secretly working against you, but some household items giving negative energy can subtly affect your mood, productivity, and sense of peace. Broken belongings, clutter, painful reminders, neglected plants, and other emotionally draining objects may keep you connected to stress without you even realizing it.

Take a slow walk through your home this week. Look at each room with fresh eyes and ask yourself whether every item contributes to the kind of life you want to live.

Sometimes creating a more peaceful home isn’t about buying something new—it’s about letting go of what no longer belongs there.

Disclaimer: There is limited scientific evidence that household objects emit “negative energy” in a spiritual sense. Many of the ideas discussed above come from cultural beliefs, feng shui practices, and observations about how our surroundings influence our emotions and behavior. If persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or stress continue despite changes to your environment, consider speaking with a qualified healthcare or mental health professional.

  • How Lack of Sleep is Ruining Your Mental Health

How Lack of Sleep is Ruining Your Mental Health

Lack of Sleep is Ruining Your Mental Health

We often underestimate the important role that sleep plays in our mental health. We are so busy and caught up in the web of balancing work life, family and relationships that we do not realize that the Lack of Sleep is Ruining our Mental Health.

The effects of not sleeping adequately does not only affect our health and stress level it also deteriorates our mental health in a subtle way that it could be too late to realize the irreversible damage caused.

We have compiled four ways in which lack of sleep is ruining your mental health.

    Mood Swings and Irritability:

Lack of Sleep is Ruining Your Mental Health

Have you noticed how you get easily annoyed with something a colleague or partner says especially after a sleepless night? That feeling isn’t just in your head. It is because you haven’t had enough sleep.

Sleep deprivation disrupts our emotional regulation, leading to increased irritability, mood swings, and even depression.

When you don’t get enough sleep you put your brain in a situation that makes it difficult to process certain emotions effectively, making us more prone to snapping at loved ones or feeling overwhelmed by minor setbacks.

It forces you into a position where you easily react impulsively to situations that require you to think extensively.

    Impaired Cognitive Function:

Sleep is essential for cognitive function and memory consolidation. When you deprive your body of sleep, you are unable to concentrate on important tasks at hand, solve basic problems and ultimately make the right decisions.

Sleep deprivation makes one forgetful and sometimes causes you to be less observant. You tend to become forgetful and easily distracted. This state of being is a recipe for disaster in both personal and professional settings.

Chronic sleep deprivation can even contribute to long-term cognitive decline and an increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease. How sleep deprivation can harm the brain

    Heightened Stress Response:

Lack of sleep sends our stress hormones, such as cortisol, into overdrive. This heightened stress response not only exacerbates feelings of anxiety but also weakens our immune system, leaving us more susceptible to illness.

Moreover, chronic stress due to sleep deprivation can contribute to the development of anxiety disorders and exacerbate existing mental health conditions. This is why people with diagnosed mental problems are often encouraged to get sufficient rest.

    Decreased Emotional Resilience:

Adequate sleep is crucial for maintaining emotional resilience—the ability to bounce back from adversity. Without it, we’re more likely to perceive challenges as insurmountable obstacles, leading to feelings of helplessness and despair.

Over time, this can spiral into a cycle of negativity, further compromising our mental health.

It’s time to prioritize rest and make sleep a non-negotiable aspect of self-care.

By recognizing the profound effects of lack of sleep and taking steps to improve our sleep hygiene, we can safeguard our mental well-being and lead happier, healthier lives. Remember, a good night’s sleep isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity for thriving in today’s demanding world.

  • How Your Smartphone is Secretly Damaging Your Brain.

How Your Smartphone is Secretly Damaging Your Brain.

In today’s digital age, smartphones have become an essential part of our daily lives. We rely on them for communication, work, entertainment, and even education. However, while these devices offer convenience, they also come with hidden dangers that can severely impact our brain health. From the effects of blue light and radiation to the constant bombardment of notifications, your smartphone is secretly damaging your brain in ways you may not even realize.

The worst part is that these negative effects can be so subtle that you often wouldn’t notice it. For children, it is even worse and hinders their cognitive development. Let us delve into the effects and tips that helped me to break this cycle.

    1. The Effects of Blue Light on Your Brain

One of the biggest culprits behind smartphone-induced brain damage is blue light exposure. Smartphones emit a significant amount of blue light, which interferes with the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle. The brain produces melatonin, a hormone responsible for regulating sleep, but excessive blue light exposure, especially at night, suppresses melatonin production.

A study by Harvard Medical School found that blue light exposure before bedtime reduces melatonin production by 50%, leading to difficulty falling asleep and poor sleep quality. Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to cognitive decline, memory problems, and an increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. If you find yourself scrolling through your phone late at night, you might unknowingly be sabotaging your brain’s ability to function optimally.

    2. Radiation and Its Impact on Brain Health

Another concerning factor is the radiation emitted by smartphones. While the debate on the long-term effects of smartphone radiation is ongoing, several studies have raised alarms about potential health risks. Smartphones emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR), and while the levels are considered safe by regulatory bodies, prolonged exposure may have negative consequences.

A study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health highlighted that long-term exposure to EMR from smartphones could lead to changes in brain activity and even increase the risk of certain types of brain tumors. Additionally, some researchers suggest that smartphone radiation could contribute to oxidative stress in the brain, which accelerates aging and cognitive decline.

    3. Constant Notifications and Mental Health Decline

Do you ever feel anxious when your phone vibrates or hear a notification sound? You’re not alone. The constant influx of messages, emails, and social media updates triggers the brain’s reward system, releasing dopamine—the same chemical associated with addiction.

Frequent interruptions from notifications significantly reduce attention span and increase stress levels. When your brain is constantly switching tasks due to smartphone notifications, it struggles to focus, leading to decreased productivity and mental fatigue. Additionally, excessive smartphone use has been linked to increased anxiety, depression, and feelings of social isolation.

How I Broke the Habit and Noticed a Change

During my school days, I was glued to my smartphone. From late-night social media scrolling to constantly checking messages, my phone controlled my life. I struggled with sleep issues, found it difficult to concentrate on my studies, and often felt mentally drained.

One day, I decided to make a change. I started by setting strict screen time limits, especially before bed. I also began using blue light filters on my devices and made a conscious effort to engage in real-world activities like reading, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Over time, I noticed significant improvements—better sleep, increased focus, and an overall sense of mental clarity. The transition was challenging, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made for my brain health.

Ways to Reduce Smartphone-Related Brain Damage

If you suspect that your smartphone is secretly damaging your brain, it’s time to take action. Here are some practical steps to reduce the negative impact:

    1. Limit Screen Time Before Bed

Reduce blue light exposure by avoiding screens at least an hour before bedtime. Consider using a blue light filter or wearing blue light-blocking glasses. These days most smartphones come in built with features that you can enable to reduce blue light.

    2. Turn Off Unnecessary Notifications

Reduce digital distractions by turning off non-essential notifications. This will help you stay focused and minimize stress.

    3. Use Airplane Mode When Not in Use

Reduce exposure to smartphone radiation by switching to airplane mode when you don’t need your phone, especially when sleeping.

    4. Take Regular Breaks

Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look away from your screen for 20 seconds and focus on something 20 feet away.

    5. Engage in Offline Activities

Replace excessive screen time with activities that promote brain health, such as reading, exercising, or spending time with loved ones.

    Conclusion

While smartphones are undeniably useful, they come with hidden dangers that can significantly impact brain health. From blue light-induced sleep disturbances to radiation exposure and constant digital interruptions, your smartphone is secretly damaging your brain. The good news is that by adopting healthier smartphone habits, you can protect your mental well-being and improve cognitive function. If I could break the habit and see noticeable changes, so can you. It’s time to take control and use technology in a way that benefits, rather than harms, your brain.

Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right

Part of growing is making mistakes that will change your life and a change in your life is accompanied by picking up valuable lessons along the way or messing up.

Believe it or not some choices we make will come at a cost which will be hard to pay and in such times we often end up losing focus on the things that matter the most. Like our goals, dreams and relationships with those who matter the most.

We have all found ourselves at a crossroads not knowing where to turn to or questioning every decision we make thereafter, it is only reasonable to blame ourselves, but we cannot shoulder it all.

Why and When do You need to Restart Right?

Knowing why and when to restart or push the reset button in your life comes as a feeling. There are times when the feelings of regret will overshadow your sense of contentment. In such times there’s little or no desire to feel grateful for the positive things in your life. This is the first indicator that you need to take a pause and analyze yourself.

Secondly, a persistent feeling of hopelessness. This comes in two folds. The first one is the actual loss of hope and the second is, losing the desire to find hope in messy situations.

If you find yourself in this situation then it only means you are losing control even over the smallest things in your life, including your emotions and drive. When this feeling is accompanied by resentment especially when things don’t go your way then more than ever you need to reset your life.

Another interesting sign that points to the need to reset your life is when you feel more and more attracted to things that are physically, mentally and emotionally unhealthy to you. That feeling of attraction to the unhealthy is only fueled by your desperation and need to fill a void.

That being said how do you now Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right?

The first thing to do is to start prioritizing your happiness. No matter your race, income or class in society happiness is a feeling that every human hopes for. We want to be happy because it is the very purpose of our existence and it’s a feeling that is linked to our sense of purpose that is the reason why we feel happy when we have achieved something good.

Reclaiming your life and setting yourself up on the right course in life is gradual but you need to start by taking control over your life.

    1. Fix your relationship with your past.

Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right
Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right

I am not asking you to forget about the past, but it is important that going into the future you do not encounter the surprises over unresolved past issues. This includes wrong decisions and certain bad relationships you may have cultivated which added no value to your life.

If you must seek forgiveness from someone then do that. If you have to forgive then do so even if they do not ask for it because resetting will serve you better than. It will serve them.

Understand that certain losses couldn’t have been prevented and those that could have been were meant to happen to shape you into who you are and who you’re about to become.

Many times we feel desperate because of our past And being desperate makes us vulnerable to making even more mistakes. So breathe. Take a chill pill and let go of things that would hold you back. This is how you can fix your relationship with the past.

    2. Define and differentiate the things you can control and those you can’t.

Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right
Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right

Take a sheet of paper and write down the things that you can control as a human and the things that you cannot control. Cancel out those which you can’t control because that’s not your business.

But for those that you can control rank them from the smallest to the highest. Here are some guided examples of things that you can control.

      1. Your emotions
      2. Your looks
      3. Your diet
      4. Your finances *
      5. Your confidence
      6. Your stress
      7. Etc

You’ll be the best person to know them all. Now once you rank them from easiest to hardest you’re on the right path. Each step empowers you to be able to complete the next one before you know it. You have mastered the ability to control your life.

      3. Record your progress and celebrate yourself.

You need to record your process because it will remind you of where you came from. This will help you not to give up along the way and to make sure that you carry it through to the very end.

If at some point in the future, you forget how far you’ve come it is always helpful to look at the growth you have made from the point you started up to where you are now.

Celebrate yourself because if you don’t, no one is going to do that for you.

        4. Identify healthy and unhealthy habits and replace the bad ones.

Take your time to identify habits that aren’t making you productive or bringing you lasting happiness. Alcohol, drugs and sex may bring you some sort of happiness but it doesn’t last and what’s worse is that it only widens the void in your heart that’s leading you to engage in such habits. Also, it’s important to keep in mind that moderation is key.

In my experience, healthy habits are those which make you productive and bring you a sense of fulfilment. Sometimes even the smallest things like laying your bed, de-cluttering your space and repainting your room can inspire you to pursue healthy habits. Replace the time you spend scrolling through social media endlessly with reading a self-help book.

          5. Take time to reflect and practice Gratitude.

Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right

Regardless of your religion, faith or belief gratitude is one most important things that you need to practice. By practising gratitude, you get to acknowledge the positive things in your life and by doing that you pay little or no attention to the negative things. You become what you feed your thoughts.

Whenever you wake up in the morning, take time to count your blessings. Spend time in nature and wonder how everything around you exists for a purpose just like yourself. Make that call to that person who checks up on you often and appreciates them as well. This is another way to practice gratitude and reset your life.

            6. Plan your life and make room for errors.

By doing all this, make sure that you put this in a comprehensive plan for your life and follow it. Be it your finances, your time or energy. You should always have a plan however, make room for errors because you cannot always control everything.

Keep in mind that some plans will fail but that is fine. That makes you a human being.

In conclusion, life has a lot to teach us so do not be in a hurry, and remember to take things gradually.

Start with the little things you can control because that is how you’ll be able to control the bigger things.

It may be difficult at times and it will not always make sense, but it is part of being human. Try and surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. Anyone who repetitively reminds you of your past or brings you pain, that person should be out of your life.

Do not feel apologetic and once in a while, be selfish with your feelings prioritizing your needs first before others.

Many problems that we face in life are a result of trying to impress people who do not even care about us so make the effort to Push the Reset Button in your Life and Restart Right.

            1. Six (6) Signs a Loved One Is On The verge of a Mental Breakdown.

Six (6) Signs a Loved One Is On The verge of a Mental Breakdown.

It is very hard to identify the signs that point to a loved one who is closer to a mental breakdown in our world today. This is because the mental state of an adult in the 21st century is deplorable compared to an adult in the 19th or 18th century.

Our fast-paced world we live in makes it difficult to pay attention to other people’s behaviour or even notice a change in their behaviours.

The pressure we face in society today’s world can sometimes lead to a mental breakdown—a period of intense mental distress that can affect a person’s ability to function. Recognizing the signs of a looming mental breakdown in someone close to you is crucial, as early intervention can make a significant difference. Here are six key indicators that someone might be on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Read Also: Is it safe to combine HIIT training with Fasting to Lose Weight?

              1. Drastic Changes in Behavior

Changes in behavior are one of the most visible signs that someone is dealing with hard times It might appear as them no longer wanting to partake in social activities they once did, more irritational behavior than normal, or a possible increase of mood swings. If your friend of normally outgoing and shows isolated behavior or a peaceful and calm person responds/aggressively, it is time to consider. These changes typically imply that something is internally wrong with the person and they might not have a way to deal with their feelings.

              2. Sleep Disturbances

Sleep is a crucial component of mental health. When someone is on the verge of a breakdown, their sleep patterns often change. This could mean they’re struggling with insomnia, unable to fall or stay asleep, or experiencing the opposite—sleeping excessively. They might also report frequent nightmares or waking up feeling exhausted despite getting enough hours of sleep. Sleep disturbances can be both a cause and a symptom of mental distress, creating a vicious cycle that exacerbates the person’s condition.

              3. Physical Symptoms Without Clear Medical Cause

Mental health issues often manifest physically. A person on the brink of a mental breakdown might experience a range of unexplained physical symptoms, such as frequent headaches, stomachaches, or chronic pain. They may also show signs of fatigue, even if they haven’t been exerting themselves physically. These symptoms can often be misleading, as they might be mistaken for a purely physical illness. However, when these physical issues occur alongside emotional and behavioral changes, it could indicate that the person’s mental health is deteriorating.

              4. Overwhelming Feelings of Hopelessness or Helplessness

A common sign that someone is nearing a mental breakdown is a pervasive sense of hopelessness or helplessness. They may express feelings that nothing they do will make a difference or that their situation is beyond repair. This mindset can lead to a loss of interest in daily activities, neglect of personal responsibilities, and, in severe cases, thoughts of self-harm or suicide. It’s vital to take these expressions seriously and encourage the person to seek professional help immediately.

              5. Inability to Focus or Make Decisions

When someone is overwhelmed by stress and emotional turmoil, it can become increasingly difficult for them to concentrate or make decisions, even about simple matters. They might find themselves easily distracted, forgetting things frequently, or taking an unusually long time to make choices. This cognitive fog can be frustrating and further diminish their sense of control over their lives, deepening their emotional distress. If you notice someone close to you struggling in this way, it could be a sign that they’re approaching a breaking point.

              6. Substance Abuse or Other Risky Behaviors

Turning to substances like alcohol, and drugs, or engaging in other risky behaviors is a common but dangerous coping mechanism for those nearing a mental breakdown. These behaviors can provide temporary relief from their distress but ultimately lead to more significant problems, including addiction, legal issues, and further mental deterioration. If someone close to you suddenly starts drinking heavily, using drugs, or engaging in risky behaviors, it’s a red flag that they may be struggling to cope with their mental health.

              1. They come up with excuses to Avoid you

When to give someone a little space

We often overlook this sign because we may like the person too much to face the reality that they want to avoid us. If someone wants space they will start giving you excuses.

One or two valid excuses are ok but when it becomes more than three times then there’s the probability they are just avoiding you. They can’t be straight with you because they do not want to bear the guilt of having to hurt your feelings.

If you notice someone you want to get close to is constantly giving lame excuses then it’s time to give them space. You would be doing them a favor and doing yourself the same.

              2. Conversations become one-sided

When to give someone a little space

Conversation with anyone should be two-sided and engaging.

If you are attempting to have a conversation with someone and they appear not interested it could mean they aren’t interested in whatever you are talking about.

If it happens very often it could be another telling sign that they want some space. Their lack of interest in talking or having a meaningful conversation with you translates into their interest in you as a person.

Respect yourself, keep your distance, and allow space for them to try to reach out and engage with you. If they don’t do that voluntarily then you should get the message by now.

              3. Unwelcoming Body Language

Insistent man trying to get sex and his worried girlfriend denying on a couch in the night at home

Someone who doesn’t want you in their circle won’t be able to do much to hide it. If you want to see if someone is fed up with your presence and wants space observe them closely.

How they lean away from you especially when talking to you or how their fake smile instantly disappears are all some subtle signs you should give them space.

People have bad days therefore it wouldn’t be fair to just conclude by giving them space as soon as you read their body language. If this reaction around you is repetitive, you can give them a little space.

              4. When they are busy too often.

“I am busy” is what someone who wants to avoid you will often use. Someone who wants you in their space will usually create the space for you.

If someone you want to get close to is telling you they are busy all the time then it’s a sign they need space. Not for them but for your own dignity.

              5. They willingly tell you.

There will be some who will be able to tell you as it is. If you are lucky to be giving a reason why they want some space then take it in good faith.

If they choose not to tell you do the same and respect yourself.

While growing up, we take many things for granted because we aren’t properly guided. We make mistakes and learn from them.

              1. Learn to control your emotions.

Controlling your emotions will save you from a lot of regrets. You will encounter many different kinds of people and behaviors at this stage of your life. You will meet them at the workplace, at home, and even in church.

Some of their actions will trigger unhealthy

emotions and cause you to react in a way that

differs completely from your core principles as

a person. Always make sure that when you sit back and watch how you reacted to them, you don’t end up regretting some actions or words you used.

This does not mean you should tolerate nonsense but you should be able to handle it with maturity.

              2. Be extra mindful of your actions they will come back to you

From year 0 to 29, society regards you as a novice who is still learning about life so some mistakes you make may be pardonable but once you hit thirty everything changes. Expectations are heightened. Not that you are living to please anyone but everything you do, good or bad will come back to you.

Once you hit 30 you will realise those around you don’t sugarcoat the harsh truth as they used to do. You are expected to be mature enough to swallow the bitter truth and embrace criticisms. If you are still trapped in your twenties you are always going to get hurt.

Unless you are super athletic with Christiano Ronaldo’s physique, you should take care of your body. How you take care of it will determine how it will carry you through old age.

Injuries you incur may not heal as fast as they used to and if you handle your body recklessly and end up with a fatal injury you could be disabled for life. it’s said that skin injuries in older adults can take up to four times longer to recover compared to younger individuals. This is partly due to the effect of aging on the cells within the body. (Source: West Coast Wound and Skincare)
